What’s New

Flanged High Deflection Mountflanged high deflection mount
These mounts, other wise referred to as Fan Mounts, Turret Mounts feature a hollow cross section providing greater deflection than a solid mount of the same dimensions. This greater deflection reduces the natural frequency and enables this mount to be used for lower frequency applications such as fans, blowers etc.

Heavy Duty Panel Mount heavy duty panel mount
A heavy duty panel mount to complement our current FRS and SFM ranges has been added to the range. This mount is suitable for loads of up to 250Kg.

Machinery Feetmachinery feet
A new range of vibration isolating, adjustable feet has been added to the range to suit loads from 100 to 4000Kg per foot.

The steel jacking screw can be used to adjust the height of the applied load to accommodate for uneven floors. The adjustment range varies with the size of the mount.
The smaller models festure a captive rubber element whilst the larger sizes are assembled.

Steering Column Bush

Steering Column Bush
Two steering column bushes are now available to all customers based on proven designs. These have been manufactured at the Warminster factory for many years but have not appeared previously in our literature or on this web site.
These vibration control bushes are for use with 19mm or 22mm steering column shafts. Both have removeable Acetal resin liners which fit into the bonded steel inner tube, to reduce friction and eliminate metal to metal contact

Moulded in Torsion Bush

In collaboration with Connaught Motor Company. AVMR have produced directly moulded torsion bushes into the 4 Upper Control Arms for the company’s new Type-D GT Syracuse pictured below.  A similar arrangement is planned for differential mounting bushes. Further details of this exciting V-10 powered sports car, the precursor to the hybrid version, can be found on their web site at  http://www.connaughtmotorco.com

Bolt Isolation Bush

Bolt isolation bushThe bolt isolator is intended for applications where through-bolts transfer noise or vibration from one structure to another. Typically used in conjunction with BPD matting, the bolt isolators allow bolts to be tightened to their design torque, whilst creating compression within the bolt isolator and intermediate isolation matting.
M12, 14 and 16 versions are currently available with common 58mm diameter outer elements

New Mini Bobbin Mount.

New Mini Bobbin MountWe have a new small bobbin mount 10mm diameter x 8mm long which is being added to the range in January 07.  This mount, although very small can be provided with all of our normal configurations including female/female and male/female styles with M4 threads. This feature is unique for a mount of this length, but important for some assembly requirements such as for small electric motors or pumps. Also, unique for any AV mount, this new item has brass threads providing advantages in certain applications.
This mount will be available in any of our standard rubber formulations and specials can be considered.

New Spring Mount Range

New Spring Mount 1Where a preference exists for the enclosed spring style of mounts, we have responded by adding a new range to complement the existing Vibrostop open spring range.
For ultimate isolation performance this new range includes the WSA/DM style which provides spring compression up to 50mm.
To eliminate spring buckling, duplex springs sets are arranged in series separated by a New Spring Mount 2steel plate
Un-necessary pre-travel is eliminated in this range as the mount is assembled in a pre-compressed condition. This range also features level adjustment such that the installation can be maintained perfectly level even if all mounts are not subject to exactly the same loading. 99% isolation can thus be achieved at frequencies as low as 14Hz (840rpm)

Special Designs and Variants

The company continues to offer low volume specials or derivatives of standard products. To support this activity further we have purchased an ESAB 320Amp MIG and a 200Amp TIG welding set to facilitate rapid response for fabrication of steel, stainless steel and other metals. Our design department can offer prototypes and small batches for special applications incorporating our range of products for novel vibration isolation applications. such as the Wind Turbine Mounts described below

Wind Turbine Mounts

Wind Turbine MountIn collaboration with The Green Company we have designed mounts to suit gable end and corner mounting of Wind Turbine Generators.  Used in pairs, these provide fast and secure clamping of standard 48.3mm scaffold pole together with vibration isolation necessary for the installation of small wind turbines on occupied buildings. Isolation is provided between the clamp and the brackets, whilst the wall bracket is further isolated from the buiulding via our Bolt Isolators. Wind Turbines can be purchased from The Green Company.

White ‘Food Grade’ Rubber

White Food Grade RubberAlso due to customer demand we are pleased to offer food grade white rubber as required in many food processing applications as an alternative to our standard black rubber. These are typically used in conjunction with stainless steel metal parts.  This material is available for most product types manufactured although there may be a minimum order quantity due to the need to clean moulds thoroughly prior to moulding as they will have been used for black rubber previously.

EU RoHS Directive

In Line with the new EU Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive, all zinc plated mild steel materials are now purchased free of hexavalent chromium in line with the directive’s requirements. Our Sheradized finish is pure zinc and so no change was necessary for such parts. The 2002/95/EC directive comes into force from 1st July 2006 and is aimed primarily at eliminating or minimising the use of hazardous substances within electrical and electronic equipment.

Motor Slide Bases

Motor Slide BasesFrom January 2007 we are offering a range of motor slide bases to suit metric motor frame sizes from 63 to 280. Although not directly related to our core business, these are used by many of our customers where rapid and accurately aligned drive belt tensioning is required in their installation. For new installations we can offer these together with inertia bases and spring mounts to provide the ultimate in vibration isolation for motor/pump, motor/generator and other applications combined with the advantages of in-situ adjustment

Accoustic Brackets

Acoustic BracketIn conjunction with architects, project teams and quantity surveyors, we have designed an acoustic bracket to provide isolation between the inside wall of a new school sports hall and the supporting structure.  By providing separation through a series of rubber members, the transmission of minor shocks (basketball hitting wall) and major impact (100Kg teenager) is greatly reduced. Over 1000 mounts were provided for this project.
The final bracket was produced in trivalent zinc plated mild steel with one of our standard bobbin style mounts fitted. This product featured adjustment to allow for alignment issues withiin the construction.

New Range of Bump Stops

Bump Stop
From January 2007 a new range of bump stops will be available. The new additions are the characteristic bullet shape providing a progressive, non-linear resistance. These mounts are now available in a wider range of sizes than previously available. New items are being added based on customer demand e.g. BS-2517 now available in all rubber hardnesses.

Stainless Steel Mounts

As we are increasingly being asked for AV mounts with stainless steel metal parts, these are now available routinely for certain products and on request for many others. For example, the SP range can be ordered with stainless steel

New range of Sandwich Mounts

Sandwhich MountDue to demand we are introducing from January 2006 a plain sandwich style mount (SW-2 to SW12)and will further develop this range according to customer demand. This style of mount provides for a greater load carrying capacity than previously available with models to suit loadings from 2000 to 12000Kg

Consolidation of Offices

With effect from the end of November 2005, the Northern Outpost was consolidated with the Main Factory in Warminster.  This was primarily a cost reduction measure without loss of any staff - all of whom have successfully relocated to Wiltshire to concentrate resources and facilities. Post and calls are no longer being diverted automatically to Warminster.

New Principals

We are proud to continue our exclusive UK distribution for the extensive range of complementary products from Vibrostop Srl (Italy) The addition of this high quality range of products allows AVMR to offer a wide range of alternatives for most vibration related problems.  Customers outside of the UK should visit the Vibrostop website at: http://www.vibrostop.it

New Alliances

To complement our range of AV mounts and related products we are now pleased to be able to offer an extended range of Anti-vibration gloves (and other specialised items) from Ergodyne, and vibration measuring equipment from Monitran Ltd
