The original design comprises a bullet shaped end but numerous alternatives are now available based on single ended versions of other mount types. The plate mounted SP styles e.g. 8050NTP are suited to high shock forces and can be produced in various natural rubber materials. The bobbin mount based versions eg 3225/OEO are also available in various materials. For more information on these variants go to SP Mount or Bobbin Mount These mounts may also be used, if appropriate to loading, as mounting feet.
Bullet shaped bump stops Bullet Shaped Bump Stops. By virtue of its shape, this classic design provides a progressive resistance to compression providing maximum shock protection.

These parts are available in all normal rubber hardness grades (35, 40, 50, 60, 70 ShA) and various materials. All metal studs are Sherardized for maximum corrosion protection.
Installation Bump stops are typically mounted such that the direction of shock is coincident with the mount axis. However a combination of pure compression and shear loads will also be accommodated. This is typically fixed to the equipment being isolated. If being used for shock protection of structures, the mount may be fixed to the structure to minimise collision damage for example.
Typical Applications Sliding door stops, cabinet door stops, closure stops, vehicle bonnet/boot stops, limit stop for oscillating machinery, feet for sensitive equipment, buffer for vehicle collision protection, overtravel protection.
Materials Rubber: Natural rubber (polyisoprene) of different grades. Alternative elastomers available on request. Metal: Zinc plated (Sherardized on 4854 model) or painted steel and zinc plated & passivated nuts & lock washers where provided.
